Smithville High School announced this week that Eric Nickles will be the new head coach of its boys basketball team.  The announcement was made on the Green Local School District’s Facebook page.  Nickles spent the past six seasons serving as Smithville’s girls coach, where he compiled a record of 100-48.  During his tenure as girls coach, Nickles’ teams won two Wayne County Athletic League titles, two district titles and had two 20-win seasons.  The boys coaching position became available last month when former coach Corey Kaufman left Smithville to take the boys job at Perry High School, in Stark County.
