A recent Wayne County Schools Career Center graduate has earned a national title in practical nursing. Cheyenne Friend won a gold medal earlier this month in the Practical Nursing contest during the annual SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference, which took place June 1–6 down in Atlanta. The practical nursing competition evaluates a wide range of professional abilities, including patient care, clinical judgment, communication and the technical skills needed in healthcare roles.
