Smithville Police Chief Robert Hartman has been awarded this year’s Theodore S. Jones Service Award, which is one of the highest honors presented annually by the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police. The award was presented recently at the Chiefs In-Service Annual Conference in Columbus. Hartman has served Smithville since 2022 and was appointed the village’s police chief in 2023.
