The Wayne County Health Department is informing individuals that they may have been exposed to the measles at Wooster’s Discount Drug Mart, on Beall Ave, on September 21, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and on September 23, between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00pm. According to Health Commissioner Nicholas Cascarelli, those who were at Discount Drug Mart during those times and who are vaccinated have a very low risk of getting sick. Those who are not vaccinated though should be very careful in watching for any signs and symptoms from now through October 12. The Wayne County Health Department is working with the Ohio Department of Health and other state and local health officials to identify people who might have been exposed, including contacting potentially exposed individuals. Since the start of July, there have been fifty-two cases of the measles identified in Wayne County. Ohio has now had 196 confirmed measles cases so far this year.
