State officials this week announced the latest round of funding for the Ohio Meat Processing Grant Program. A total of $14 million is being awarded to 51 meat processing facilities around the state, including three here in Wayne County. Uncle Danny’s Meats in Dalton and Kidron’s Gerber Poultry will each receive $500,000, while Ohio Farms Packing in Creston is being awarded a grant for just over $300,000. Under the guidelines of the grant program, the money can be used for new construction or upgrading a company’s existing facilities.
