The city of Medina this week unveiled a historic site sign that commemorates the time abolitionist Frederick Douglas spoke there about the importance of freeing slaves. Douglas, along with fellow abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison, visited Medina in the summer of 1847. The sign commemorating the pair’s visit is located outside of the county’s 1841 courthouse.
