Richard Haun has been appointed Holmes County’s interim sheriff. County Commissioners appointed Haun, who was been with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office for more than 37 years, during a meeting on Monday. Haun takes over for longtime Sheriff Tim Zimmerly, who will be officially retired as of Friday. Haun will serve out the remainder of Zimmerly’s term, which runs through the end of the year.
