The city of Rittman has been awarded a grant from the Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study. The $50,000 grant is being made available through the study’s Connecting Communities Planning Grant Program to help Rittman develop plans that promote neighborhood connectivity and active transportation. Rittman’s Active Transportation Plan is expected to include recommendations to improve access between its downtown, surrounding neighborhoods, and nearby trails by encouraging pedestrian and bicycle travel.
