The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is now using drones to locate orphaned gas wells in Wayne County.  According to an announcement from the Wayne County Commissioners’ Office, the initiative aims to improve public safety and environmental protection by identifying and plugging the abandoned wells.  The initiative is part of a broader effort to address orphaned wells across the state.  Residents can report potential orphaned wells through a form on the ODNR’s website.
