First responders say six people were injured on Tuesday in an explosion and fire at an industrial facility in Holmes County.  East Holmes Fire & EMS responded just after 12:30 p.m. to Holmes Custom Moulding along County Road 120.  Two of the victims were transported to Akron Children’s Hospital, while the other four were taken to Pomerene Hospital.  Firefighters determined that sparks from a malfunctioning belt sander entered a sawdust collection system, causing the explosion. The blast caused significant damage to the building and its sawdust silos.  Firefighters were at the scene for about five hours, until the last hotspots had been extinguished.
