The Wooster City School District has been awarded a nearly $800,000 state literacy grant. School officials say the funds will be allocated over the next four school years to address needs in the district’s elementary buildings and Edgewood Middle School. In the four elementary schools, the grant will provide extra reading and writing support for students, along with classroom intervention supplies. At Edgewood, the grant funds will support reading and writing interventions for students in grades 5 thru 7. The district also is adding a full-time reading teacher.
