The remains of First Lt. William Hott, a native of Holmes County’s Prairie Township, have been identified and accounted for 75 years after he went missing in action during the Korean War.  Hott was declared dead in 1951 after witnesses reported he was killed in action, but his remains were not recovered until North Korea returned 55 boxes of remains in 2018.  New DNA testing methods were used to identify Hott’s remains earlier this month.
