The Wayne County Dog Shelter has adjusted its adoption fee, increasing it from $75 to $98.The change, which will take effect on April 1st, will help cover the cost of care and medical services that each dog receives before finding its forever home. Dogs adopted from the shelter receive their required vaccinations, along with flea treatment and heartworm prevention. All dogs are also microchipped and licensed and go home with a leash and a collar.
